What began as simply a weekend retreat for two New York City dwellers has quickly flourished into their livelihood and a globally recognized lifestyle brand. Josh Kilmer-Purcell and his partner Brent Ridge – now better known as the “Beekman Boys” – created Beekman 1802, a thriving e-commerce business and storefront in Sharon Springs, NY, nearly 200 miles outside of Manhattan.

Using goats’ milk from their farm, the pair began producing soap, cheese and other artisanal goods in 2007. “On really busy days we are shipping out hundreds of orders from our shipping room, so we have to be really efficient,” said Ridge.
