March 2014 | New York, NY
Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC), a provider of business communications services for small, medium and enterprise-sized companies and service providers, won the “Best Strategic Acquisition (Large)” during Capacity magazine’s recent Metro Connect Awards in Miami, Florida.
TWCBC’s award recognized the company’s 2013 acquisition of DukeNet Communications, LLC, which added more than 8,700 route miles to its fiber optic network that serves business customers in the Southeast, including key markets in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Capacity magazine's inaugural Metro Connect Awards, in conjunction with Atlantic-ACM, celebrated the best of the North American metro market.
“DukeNet was a very important, strategic acquisition for our company and we’re thrilled to be recognized by Capacity magazine with a Metro Connect Award,” said Stephanie Anderson, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Time Warner Cable Business Services. “Our robust, dense fiber network is a key advantage for meeting the complex needs of customers and DukeNet has expanded and strengthened our portfolio and reach.”
TWCBC owns and operates an extensive, 147,000 fiber-route-mile network infrastructure in more than 30 major metro markets nationwide with over 58,000 fiber-lit buildings and 14,000 connected cell towers. The company’s wholesale E- Access Ethernet speeds range from up to 5 Mbps to 10 Gbps (speeds available in most areas) and is backed by industry leading Service Level Agreements (SLAs). TWCBC recently became the first North American company to earn all eight Carrier Ethernet (CE) 2.0 certifications from the Metro Ethernet Forum, and was named the top cable company on Vertical Systems Group’s U.S. Carrier Ethernet LEADERBOARD.
